We have a new update for our GooglebaseXML component for Joomla and Virtuemart. This extension creates a product feed for your Virtuemart products which can be submitted to Google merchant centre.

The latest release of Virtuemart is 2.0.10, which was released last week. We have a new release, version 3.0.7, of our component, designed to work with this Virtuemart release.

How to Update

There must be many, many e-commerce websites that use the combination or Joomla 1.5.x and Virtuemart 1.1x. They are a popular combination and work well. The problem is that these systems are at the end of their life: there will be no further releases even for security patches. Ideally website owners should be migrating now (if you have not already) to Joomla 2.5 and Virtuemart 2.x.

Our site has recently undergone a major update. We think this update will make it more convenient for our users, and will provide a big improvement in the long term.

However it will have a few implications in the short term. If you have ordered a product from us in the past you will find that your old download link no longer works. No need for concern though: you will still be able to access any downloads that you are entitled to by logging into your account and viewing the order. If you think that your order is missing please contact us - we will still have a record of it and will be able to reinstate it for you.

Our latest extension is the module Cobalt Featured Items. This module for Joomla 2.5 is designed to work exclusively with Cobalt, the content construction kit by MintJoomla. It displays selected Cobalt fields in a variety of layouts, including default list, horizontal list, thumbnails, accordion, tab pane, rotator, and highlighter.

The layouts available are the same as for our Featured Items Pro module for Joomla, and you can see a demo of the layouts here. The module can create extracts from the article text, and thumbnails from the image and gallery fields, also from images embedded in html text, which are automatically resized as required.

We have a new release of our Featured Product Grid Module for Virtuemart. For the first time this module is compatible with Virtuemart 2 and Joomla 2.5.

This module extension for Joomla and Virtuemart is an alternative to the Virtuemart featured products module. It can be used to show featured products, top ten products, recent products, or random products from some or all categories.

The module is particularly useful when you want to display additional images for your products, as these are shown in a slideshow.

The products can be filtered by selected categories, and can now products according to the current category when a category browse page or a product flypage is being viewed.

This month's featured extension is the module for Joomla! 1.5 and 2.5, Featured Items Pro.

This module displays a short excerpt from articles in a selected category or section, or from a specified list of articles, with link and optional thumbnail image. The items can be displayed in a variety of layouts, including lists, tab panes, accordion,  article rotator, highlighter, or thumbnails only.

The module supports articles both from the Joomla core content component and from Mighty Extensions Resources, also the K2 content component.

We have a new release of our module controller for Virtuemart, VM Modcontroller Pro. This module allows you to control the display of any other Joomla module on Virtuemart pages. It allows you to assign modules to Virtuemart pages (including specific flypages or browse pages), categories, and shopper groups.

For example, if you just want to show a module on the checkout page, or the main category browse pages, or for a particular category, or even to a particular shopper group, this module allows you to do this.

The new release, version 1.2.0, includes additional options to filter by manufacturer, to exclude specific categories, and to filter by SSL/non-SSL pages. Also for the first time we have a version of the module that is compatible with Virtuemart 2 and Joomla 2.5.

We are happy to announce the release of our new image slideshow module for Joomla 1.6/1.7/2.5, Mod Panelsider. This module displays your images in an attractive and unusual scrolling javascript slideshow. The display consists of a main image with previews of the previous and next images in two semi-opaque side panels.

This is our first extension release designed specifically for Joomla 2.5: we wanted to take advantage of some of the advanced features only possible with Joomla 2.5.

The module comes in 3 versions: the basic version which requires no external extensions, a version for Ignite Gallery, and a version for FW Gallery.

The long awaited new release of Com Jigsaw, our Flash puzzle game for Joomla, is now available. This component allows you to turn your site images into a jigsaw puzzle, and is great fun for adults and children. It will load images from any site folder you specify, and automatically turn them into a puzzle.

Version 3 includes some great new features:-

The  latest release of our Amazon Web Services content plugin for Joomla 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7, and for Mighty Extensions Resources, is version 2.4.2. This content plugin allows you to embed product information and reviews and links from Amazon Web Services into your Joomla articles. 

This release includes several improvements:-

• It adds support for Joomla 1.7
• It adds support for the latest version of the Amazon product advertising API (2011-08-01)
• It adds support for the new Italian and Chinese Amazon product advertising APIs (see https://forums.aws.amazon.com/ann.jspa?annID=1115)
