TOPIC: Joomla module assigned to specific menu

Joomla module assigned to specific menu 2 months, 1 week ago #433

Hello, I have a module that is only assigned to a specific menu, not assigned to all menus. If I configure the controller module to publish that module not present. However if I modify the joomla module and assigned it to all elements, so if it presents. is there any solution for this?

Re: Joomla module assigned to specific menu 2 months, 1 week ago #434

You can assign the controller module to a specific menu item if you wish, I think that would do what you want.

In the documentation it says to assign the controller module to all menu items, but this is because people often forget to assign it. If you want it to only display for one Joomla menu item you can assign it to that one menu item as normal for Joomla. But note that you will need to assign both the controller module and the display module to the menu item.

I hope this answers your question - it can get quite complicated I know.

Sorry, but does not work. I created a menu in joomla menus manager. Then I created a menu with virtuemar controller. Both menus are assigned the same menu where I want to be published but does not work. Deputy images.

Hello, it definitely does work, I tested this myself.

Looking at the images you posted, you have both the controlled module and the vm modcontroller module published. If nothing is showing, then it is a problem with the controlled module you want to display, because if you publish it and nothing shows then it is simply not working. If you publish it, it should display something. If it does not, it is nothing to do with the vm modcontroller.

The first thing you should do before trying to use the VM modcontroller is to check whether the module that you want to display is working properly.

I think you may be misunderstanding something about the way the Joomla and Virtuemart menu system works. Can you please explain clearly what you want for your module behaviour? Then it should be possible to help you with what you want to do.

I publish the module is working correctly. If I select to be published throughout the site, as you can see from the pictures you attached is displayed without problem.

What I want is as it was in the previous post, I want to publish a specific module through a menu, when linking to certain categories of virtuemart.

I still think that you may be misunderstanding in some way. If you restrict a module to display only for specific categories using VM Modcontroller, then it will display ONLY on those category pages. It will not display on other Joomla pages.

I still don't quite understand what you are trying to do, but it sounds as if you are trying to do something different. You are trying to display a module on some Joomla pages, but only if they link to certain Virtuemart categories? Is this correct? I think you would just need to use the Joomla menu system for this.

Re: Joomla module assigned to specific menu 1 month, 1 week ago #447

I want to publish a module in certain subcategories of a category of virtuemart, only in these subcategories. The first thing I do is create a menu in joomla with subcategories. In addition, I create a menu module with these subcategories. With the controller virtuemart when I speak I want you click on a category that contains subcategories I submit, at that time visualize the module.
It is true that something like what I do own virtuemart, but not what I want, because in virtuemart when clicking on a subcategory of a category, the others disappear, and what I want is to somehow all I Choose subcategories are still present.
I do not know if I explained well, maybe my English is not too good, but if you need any more clarification please. I need to fix this problem, because if you buy this module, it is because we understood that by this very thing.

Re: Joomla module assigned to specific menu 1 month, 1 week ago #448

If I am understanding you, you need to assign both the menu module and the VM modcontroller to ALL Joomla menu items.

Then in the VM Modcontroller module you set it to display on the parent categories of the categories you wish to link to.

Make sure that ALL the other parameters are left at their default values, sometimes this can cause problems otherwise.

Re: Joomla module assigned to specific menu 1 month ago #449

Sorry, but so does not work. The problem is that if I select all items in the menu, the module will be displayed in other parts of the site do not want to display. If it works for virtuemart but does not work for the rest of the site. The solution is that the module itself can be configured to the rest of the site's menus as with virtuemart.
Last Edit: 1 month ago by Victor Loureiro.

Re: Joomla module assigned to specific menu 1 month ago #450

ok. I think I got it in Non-Virtuemart Pages with virtuemart pages only

Re: Joomla module assigned to specific menu 1 month ago #451

Yes, there is the non-virtuemart pages parameter that you can use to suppress output on non-virtuemart pages, it is designed to solve problems like yours.
