Cacheing of products was created by Jamescannon66
Hi,

I like the Amazon plugin and cart. I want to make it cache the products and specially their pictures!
How must I configure it to do that? ... store the product/pics locally on my webserver?

Thx.

You can cache the products simply by turning on the "Cache time" option in the AmazonWS plugin configuration, if you set it to any non-zero value it will cache the products for that length of time.

It does not cache the images, for two main reasons
  1. Amazon's terms do not allow you to do that
  2. There is absolutely no point in doing so, the images are hosted on the Amazon server so there is no speed-up of your site performance by caching them on your site, in fact it would slow it down.

Hi,

That sounds logic. BUT I am using modules that automatcally fetch the image
of an article and make preview pics out it for different catalogue and module views.

What would you advise me to do?

Thx.

You would need to ask the maker of zentools2 about that. But I would expect it to still work with images hosted on Amazon, it is not that unusual to have an article image that is hosted on another domain, if zentools is any good it really ought to be able to handle that situation.
