A module extension for the the Joomla CMS. It displays a short excerpt from Joomla articles in a selected category or section, or from a specified list of articles, with link and optional thumbnail image. The articles can be selected from the Joomla core content component, or from K2.

This highly versatile module allows you to feature articles picked by id, by section or by category. The articles can be ordered in a variety of ways, including by the number of hits, or by the modification date, the title, random or custom ordering, allowing the module to function like the 'latest news' module, or like the 'most read' module, as well as displaying individually chosen articles, or displaying a random article.

The module displays a thumbnail plus an extract from the text with a link to the article for each item. The items can be displayed in a variety of layouts, including lists, tab panes, accordion, article rotator, highlighter, or thumbnails only. There is a choice of colour schemes.

The module can use GD graphics for improved thumbnail quality. The administrator can set the length of the article excerpt either by setting the number of characters or the number of sentences.

K2 Integration

The module now includes support for K2 as the content source. It can display text taken from the K2 intro text, and images taken from the K2 image field or embedded in the text.

It also allows the use of comment tags to display special information about the article (see documentation).

The module also includes integration with K2 Users, Community Builder, Mighty Extensions Touch and JomSocial. It can be used to display articles by the profiled user whenever a user profile is viewed.

Javascript

Some of the module layouts use the Mootools javascript library, whch is the official javascript library supported by Joomla, and which comes as part of the Joomla core. The layouts work with all versions of Mootools used by Joomla 1.5 and 2.5 and 3.0, and can co-exist with extensions that use JQuery without conflict.

You can change the folder used for the mp3s by changing the module parameters in the module manager, also you can choose the number of mp3s selected - the default is 5.

This is the pro version of the random mp3 module. It includes 3 additonal skins, and also displays id3 information about the song title, artist and album.

Usage

It is very easy to install, you just use the Joomla! installer. The only thing that you need to remember is to set the from email address through the module parameters, otherwise it will not work.

The module also allows for a bcc field, and includes spam and email filtering.

Com Swift Gallery

Flash image galley component for Joomla 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7

It is called 'Swift Gallery' for a reason - it is an ultra-fast way to create a really stylish looking Flash image gallery from any folder containing images.

You just upload your images to a folder of your choice. Then create a new menu item, and set the folder path as a parameter. The component can create captions automatically, using either Exif metadata, or the image filename.

The component also includes a content plugin, allowing you to embed galleries directly into your article content.

You can have as many galleries as you want. You can set your choice of background and text colour, as well as the thumbnail size, and the orientation (vertical or horizontal) for the gallery. There are also currently two sizes available: 550x400px, and 700x600px.

You can also choose between a variety of gradient backgrounds - and the gradient colours are fully customizable. There are also a variety of image transitions available, including: fade, rotate, photo flash, zoom, squeeze, random and none.

The component dynamically generates image thumbnails and resizes your images to fit into the gallery. Your images can be located in a folder outside your public_html folder, allowing you to protect your images from unauthorized download.

This content plugin allows you to embed product information and reviews and links from Amazon Web Services into your Joomla articles.

A content plugin for the Joomla 1.5, 2.5 and 3 CMS.

This content plugin allows you to embed product information and reviews and links from Amazon Web Services. The product link includes your Amazon associates id, the site administrator can also choose to allow authors to use their own associates id.

Much of the output is customizable. For example either the administrator or the author can choose whether to show the ratings and reviews. The plugin handles signed Amazon requests, and allows choice of Amazon country marketplace services.

You can specify products either by using an Amazon product id, or use a product keyword search, or a title and author search for books.

The latest release includes greater flexibility in layout choice, and a completely new additional template: the 'modal' layout displays Amazon Customer Reviews in a popup window rather than directly on the page.

A module that counts the number of articles in a category.

Mod Virtuemart Featured Product Grid

This is an alternative to the Virtuemart featured products module. It displays product information and images, including additional images, in an attractive gallery, with two contrasting views: a grid and a list view.

This module extension for Joomla and Virtuemart can be used to show featured products, top ten products, recent products, random or selected listed products from some or all your shop categories.

Please note that there are two versions of the module available: the version for Virtuemart 1.1x is compatible with Joomla 1.5, while the version for Virtuemart 2 is compatible with Joomla 1.5 and 2.5. If you buy this product you will be able to download both versions.

The module is particularly useful when you want to display additional images for your products, as these are shown in a slideshow.

The module is versatile. The size of the images are adjustable, as is the height and width of each cell (and so the numbers displayed per row can be adjusted). You can chooce whether or not to show the price and add to cart button. There is a choice of transition effects for the images.

The products can be filtered by selected categories, and our new feature is that it can now filter products according to the current category when a category browse page or a product flypage is being viewed.

Javascript

The image scroller uses the Mootools javascript library, which is native to Joomla, so you will not need to download any further javascript libraries. The Virtuemart 1.1x version of the module is compatible with Mootools 1.1 (so not the Mootools upgrade plugin). The Virtuemart 2.x version of the module is compatible with all versions of Mootools supported by Joomla.

The module can coexist with JQuery extensions without problems.

Plug Block Password Reset

This is a system plugin for Joomla 1.5x that makes it possible to block password resetting from the front-end of your site for selected users or user groups.

This plugin is designed to make your Joomla site more secure by preventing attackers from resetting your administrator password.

Usage

Upload and install using the Joomla installer. Remember to enable the plugin in the plugin manager. Set the individuals that you wish to block password resetting for in the plugin parameters. You can block password resetting for selected individuals listed by id, or for specific groups.

You should only use this plugin if you are confident that you will not forget your admin password, or if you have access to your site database so that you can reset your password directly in an emergency.

This module can display images from your Joomla! articles as a javascript slideshow, with a caption taken from the text, and a link to the articles. It can be used to quickly create an editable slideshow by loading images into a Joomla article.

This module can display images from your Joomla! articles, with a caption taken from the text, and a link to the articles, as a javascript slideshow. It can be used to quickly create an easily editable slideshow, simply by uploading images into a Joomla article, then using this article as the source for the slideshow. Alternatively the slideshow can be used to display a portfolio or news images, with the displayed images being linked to their source articles.

It has some really handy features:-

The module is smart, it can find articles with images automatically. You can just select a category, and it will find the articles and the images in them, without you needing to add anything to the articles themselves;
articles without images will not be displayed;
You can choose the number of articles, plus from a variety of orderings, including title order, most recently modified or created, number of hits, or random;
Alternatively, you can select specific articles only to display;
The size of the slide image and thumbnails is fully customizable through the module parameters, so the module can work as a large central display, or a small feature;
There is a large range of customizable features, including whether or not to display the thumbnails, the orientation of the thumbnails (horizontal or vertical), the type of scroller used (click or mouseover), plus whether to auto-start the show on page loading;
The module is search engine friendly, because the article caption content and the links are rendered on the page as ordinary html, the slideshow being constructed from this content, hence Google will have no problem crawling the article links.
You can choose the amount of text to display in the caption;
You can have as many instances of the module on the page as you want, with separate parameters for each.

The module supports the Joomla Core Content and K2 articles. It is compatible with mootools, and does not require any additional javascript libraries, just the mootools library that ships with Joomla.

Our newstab module for the Joomla 1.5, 2.5 and 3 CMS allows you to display links to your Joomla news articles in a series of tabs, a format popular with many news websites.

The module supports articles both from the Joomla core content component and from Mighty Extensions Resources. The tabs can be displayed in either horizontally across the top of the module, or vertically down the site of the module. You can have as many instances of the module on a page as you wish.

A simple application of this module would be to display 'latest', 'popular' and 'featured' articles using three tabs. However this module is extremely flexible, and is capable of far more than that. You can display up to 8 tabs (if you have the space), and each tab can display any of the following types of content:-

latest (most recently modified or created)
popular (most hits)
featured (articles specified by list of id's)
random
author (articles by selected list of authors)
profiled (JomSocial/Mighty Touch integration - show articles by currently profiled user)
section (section or list of sections)
category (category or list of categories)

Yyou can also filter all the results by specfied categories or sections, or you can use the current category or section. For example, if you wish you can show the latest, popular and featured articles for whichever category is currently being viewed.

In addition to the links you can choose to show an extract of the article text, plus an image thumbnail. The module is so flexible that it can be used to show the entire article introtext, and can even trigger content plugins.

The latest release includes a choice of transition effects (slide, fade or none) and a choice of tab style.

The module uses the Mootools javascript library, which is part of the Joomla core, so there is no additional javascript download required apart from the NewsTab script itself. It is compatible with all versions of Mootools, and can co-exist with other extensions that require different libraries such as JQuery.

Plug Master User

This plugin for the Joomla CMS allows selected users (usually administrators) to log into other registered user accounts using their own passwords.

Compatible with Joomla versions 1.5, 2.5 and 3.

This plugin allows administrator users to log into the front end of their site as another registered user.

Optionally this facility can be restricted to selected users only, or all users in a selected master user group (usually administrators) can be allowed to do this.

Since users use their own passwords these are encrypted and stored securely in the database as normal, so this should not compromise the security of your site. Additionally you can restrict the facility to selected IP addresses only.

This plugin works with the standard Joomla login and extensions that use this, and will also work with Community Builder if the Login Field Type is set to 'Username, email or enabled CMS authentication plugins'.

The latest release is now compatible with Joomla 3.2 as well as previous versions of Joomla 2.5 and 3.

Usage - Easy Setup

Upload and install using the Joomla installer. Enable it in the plugin manager. Then click on the plugin name to view its options. Either set the 'enable by group' parameters to yes, or list the ids of selected administrators as a comma separated list in the 'Master User Ids' input box. If you wish to restrict by IP address then list allowed IP addresses as a comma separated list. Save the options.

Once enabled, the administrator can log in as any registered user by using that user's username and their own administrator password.

Advanced Setup

Clicking on the advanced tab will bring up the advanced plugin options. The 'restricted user group option' allows you to bar master users from logging into user accounts belonging to the selected groups. By default the plugin will use groups 7 and 8, the administrator and super-administator groups. Unless you have been messing with the admin groups on your site you will not normally need to set this option explicitly, but you can if you need to.

The 'Master User Groups' option allows you to select the groups to which master users must belong. By default the plugin will use groups 7 and 8 for this setting. You may want to think about explcitly creating a separate master user group to use instead - read the discussion on security below for the reasoning behind this.

Security

It should be possible to use this plugin without compromising the security of your site, however it is worth thinking about the security aspects.

Firstly, because the master user simply uses their own password which is stored in encrypted form in the Joomla database, this should not compromise your site security.

However 'brute force' attackes against Joomla sites are becoming more common. This is where repeated login attempts are made using random combinations of username and password - when the attacker successfully logs in they know they have succeeded. Usually the target of such attacks will be to obtain access to an administrator account. If you have a lot of registered users the plugin will somewhat increase your site susceptibility to such attacks, because the attacker will only need to guess the username of any registered user combined with your administrator password rather than an administrator username as well as password. There are several ways to protect your site from exploiting the plugin in this way.

Firstly, you can disable the plugin in the Joomla plugin manager when you are not using it. If you only need to use the plugin occasionally this is both simple and effective
In addition, if you normally access your site from the same IP address you can use the plugin options to restrict logins to this IP address
Rather than letting administrators act as master users you can explicitly create your own master user group with no administator privileges - then if the master user account is compromised this will not give the attacker any admin access to your site.

Imgen Component

Image Generator component for Joomla

This component for Joomla 1.5, 2.5 and 3 allows you to dynamically resize and compress your site images. It includes a plugin framework, with plugins to add a watermark, and to apply dynamic resizing to all your article images.

The component can cache the resized images, and also allows you to encode the image path, which is useful if you want to hide the location of your original image files.

The method of accessing the image resizer is very simple, you just pass the image to the component in an URL. This means that the image generator could potentially be integrated quite easily into any Joomla extension.

VM2 ModController Pro

This module gives you the control that you need over the display of any Joomla module on Virtuemart pages. One of the frustrating things about using Virtuemart is that it is not possible to assign modules to Virtuemart pages through the Joomla menu system. This module is designed to overcome this limitation.

This module allows you to control the display of other Joomla modules on Virtuemart pages. It allows you to assign modules to Virtuemart pages including product details pages, categories, checkout pages, manufacturer pages, and shopper groups. The module can be used to restrict modules to SSL only pages, or non-SSL pages to avoid security warnings if the module contains non-SSL content.

For example, if you just want to show a module on the checkout page, or the main category browse pages, or even to a particular shopper group, this module allows you to do this.

The module allows you to control the display of other Joomla modules by Virtuemart page, by category, by specific flypage or browse page, or by shopper group: or a combination of all of those, giving you great flexibility. You can have as many instances of VM Modcontroller as you wish, so just use one for each module whose display you need to control.

Com GoogleBaseXML

This Component for the Joomla Content Management System generates a product data feed for your Virtuemart store. This feed can be uploaded to your Google Merchant centre account.

The product listing generated by the component is in XML format, and can be manually uploaded, or submitted to Google Merchant Center for scheduled upload. Once uploaded to your Google Merchant centre account the feed can be used for Google Product Search, Google Product Ads, and Google Commerce Search. The product feed supports the all specifications required by Google (see the Google feed specification ) and also supports all the optional attributes such as size and color (except for loyalty points and installments attributes). The feed can also support product variants using Virtuemart child products.

Please note that there are three versions of this component, for different versions of Joomla and Virtuemart. If you buy this product you will be able to download all versions.

The data feed generated by our GooglebaseXML component can be used to submit products for any Google target country, and in multiple languages. However Google product search will reject product listings that are not in the language of the target country.

Mod Cobalt Featured Items

A module desgined exclusively for the Cobalt CCK. It displays selected Cobalt fields in a variety of layouts, including default list, horizontal list, thumbnails, accordion, tab pane, rotator, and highlighter.

Cobalt Featured Items gives you the opportunity to display your articles in a variety of stylish layouts.

This module for Joomla 2.5 and 3 is designed to work exclusively with Cobalt 7 and 8, the content construction kit by MintJoomla. The layouts available are the same as for our Featured Items Pro module for Joomla, and you can see a demo of the layouts here. Those available include: default (list the articles); horizontal (display in a horizontal list); article rotator; article highlighter (displays rotating short extract and article link in a single prominent line, like a news ticker); tab pane; accordion; thumbnails (a thumbnail of an article image, linking to the main article).

Cobalt Featured Items has the advantage over its predecessor Featured Items Pro that it can has been designed exclusively to work with Cobalt, and can render all fields natively. It has many other features:

the module can select the displayed articles by section, category or by individual record, and can display articles from the currently viewed category;
records can be selected by record type;
the module can select individual fields, or by field type (eg, image, gallery)

The layout of the individual items is also controlled by a choice of templates, the choices available include: the default (just output the selected fields), extract (thumbnail image plus an extract from the text), images (display all images as thumbnails, gallery (for gallery field, display gallery plus extract from text). The result is that you have detailed control over the resulting layout.

Images are specially handled. The module can create thumbnails from the image and gallery fields, also from images embedded in html text, and are automatically resized as required.

The color picker modifies a standard Joomla parameter text field to generate a color picker. It returns a six-digit hexadecimal color code. It decays gracefully - if for any reason the script does not function then the user will see a standard text field. However is has been tested in Internet Explorer 7 and 8, plus Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera and Safari, and should work in any standards compliant browser.

There are times as a Joomla developer when it would be very useful to have a form field in Joomla that is capable of self-replication. For example, you want your user to be able to input some links, but you don't know in advance how many there will be, you want your user to be able to choose to add as many as they want without imposing any arbitrary limit. What you want is a self-replication form field that can return its values as an array.

This tool for Joomla developers is designed to generate self-replicating form fields for use in Joomla extensions. It is compatible with Joomla 1.5 and 1.6/1.7/2.5, with mootols 1.1 and 1.2 and 1.3, and does not require any other javascript library, so no conflicts with the Joomla admininstrator template. It is very lightweight, consisting of a single javascript file, plus the the Joomla element and formfield classes necessary to generate the custom parameter. It can be used in component, module or plugin parameters to generate an array of self-replicating form fields. Instead of returning a single value as a standard Joomla parameter does, it returns an array of values.

The variable field form field can be used to generate self-replicating fields of most of the Joomla standard field types, including text, textarea, list and other list based types, such as category or usergroup. The user will see the standard input field, plus buttons which allow the user to add or delete input fields, also to re-order them, also to re-order them up and down.

Just add your images, captions and links as a series of slides and publish the module. This versatile module can display images for your Virtuemart products in an attractive HTML5 slideshow. The module features a variety of transition effects: Grid, Bars, Blinds, Scale, Scale Rotate, Fade, Translate, Grow, Grayscale, Inverse, Pixelate, Threshold, Lower Threshold and Dissolve and Smear.

The module is smart, it can find products with images automatically. You can just select a category, and it will find the products and the images in them;
products without images will not be displayed in the slideshow;
You can choose the number of images per product to display;

System Requirements

The module requires Joomla 2.5.x and Virtuemart 2.0.x. The transition effects also require a web browser that supports the canvas element, such as Internet Explorer 9, Firefox, or Chrome. Visitors who do not have a compatible browser will see the same slideshow but with a simple fade transition.

Plug Mail IP Address

A simple plugin that mails the IP address of new user registrations to all users who are set to receive system emails.

It also mails the name, username and email address.

Usage: Install as normal using the Joomla installer. Remember to enable the plugin in the plugin manager. It will send emails to any user who is set to receive system emails, so if you don't get an email check you are set to receive them in the Joomla user manager.
